Summer Delaney is an award-winning host, reporter, and producer. She
has launched several digital video projects and series at legacy media companies, and specializes in creating engaging, mobile-first content for local, national and international news outlets. She is currently a MBA candidate at Columbia Business School studying the future of media.
Summer most recently worked as a producer for CNN storytelling and reporting for the network's award-winning Facebook Watch show "Go There." She focused on covering the coronavirus pandemic, as well as reported on enterprise stories and produced featured pieces with CNN national and international correspondents. While she left CNN full-time in July, she currently freelances for the network and other outlets, including "Inside Edition," as she pursues her MBA.
Summer was also an on-air digital host and producer at Tribune Media and WPIX-TV . She presented across PIX11 News's social media channels and website, as well as hosted Facebook Live segments. Her videos were syndicated on CNN Newsource, AOL, LittleThings and other digital outlets. Her reports, including her international coverage of the Royal Wedding in May 2018 in London, have been viewed over 60 million times,
Summer was honored by the New York State Broadcasters Association during the 2019 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards for "Outstanding Social Media Personality." Her work also contributed to WPIX-TV winning several digital innovation awards from the Local Media Association, including best social media strategy and best new digital initiative.
Summer previously worked at Yahoo News, Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, WBOY-TV, ABC News, and Atlantic Media. Summer received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. A native of Washington, D.C. and Maryland, she now lives in Manhattan with her husband.
